Southampton City Council Museums and City Art Gallery
Since the 19 March, Southampton City Art Gallery, Tudor House and Garden, SeaCity Museum have been closed to the public and scheduled events postponed until further notice.
Our museums and art gallery are not open just yet but we’re getting ready!
To make sure we get this right for you, our staff and our volunteers, our teams are busy making sure all safety measures are in place, ready to welcome you back as safely as possible. We will keep you up-to-date as soon as we’re able to open.
Southampton Libraries: Our libraries have been closed since 19 March 2020. From Monday 6 July 2020, Southampton City Libraries will start a phased opening offer with a select and collect service.
All Council run libraries will initially be open for limited hours on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am to 12.30pm & 2pm to 4.30pm (with the exception of Lordshill which will open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday) for this collection service.
Customers will be able to reserve items on-line or via telephone on 023 8083 3007. Items will be prepared for collection and made available on dedicated shelves.
All 6 council run libraries are accepting returns via collection bins located outside, though operating hours for this vary dependant on each library. No overdue fees will be charged until 6 September 2020.
