Carlton Place Monthly Market, Carlton Place (FREE & NEW!)

Held on the first Saturday of every month, browse a variety of outdoor market stalls in the city's newly pedestrianised area.

This December, organisers will be adding a little extra cheer to the season, with an additional market date! On Saturday 7th and Saturday 14th December, the market will be filled with seasonal stalls and delightful surprises, along with your favourite vendors.

On Saturday 14th December from 12pm, the festivities ramp up with live performances from The Skylarks and Angling for Farthings. In Training for a Heroine: Jane Austen's travelling writing desk, 15th November - Sunday 23rd February 2025, God’s House Tower (FREE*)

A brand new art exhibition and celebration of the life of former resident Jane Austen. Running now until to February 2025, check out In Training for a Heroine and the chance to see Austen’s travelling writing desk before it starts its journey abroad. It’s free to attend but you’ll need a ticket, book here.

Christmas Market, 15th November - 5th January, city centre (FREE)

See the city centre transformed into a festive wonderland with glittering lights and alpine chalets with a range of thrilling rides, unique gifts, and food and drink.

Westquay on Ice, 22nd November - 5th January, The Esplanade

The ice rink returns to Westquay for all to enjoy some icy fun out on the rink. Open daily, book your skating time slot between 10am - 10pm.

Southampton's Snow Windows Trail, 29th November - 31st December, city centre (FREE)

Enjoy a festive family trail in the city to discover 20 unique snowy scenes. Follow the trail map and write down the letter clues along the way to solve the festive word. When finished, children can receive a free prize at end locations.

Christmas Panto: Jack and the Beanstalk,14th December - 5th January, Mayflower Theatre

Kev Orkian, award-winning actor and comedian, and the incredible street dance sensations, Ashley Banjo & Diversity, are back this Christmas for a giant adventure up the beanstalk - fun for the whole family!
