Southampton is jam-packed with events throughout the year. From music festivals and races to shows and celebrating history moments, there is something for everyone to enjoy in the city. We’ve rounded up some of the top events throughout the year so you can get planning now.


Electronic Music Weekender, 8th9th March 2024

Two unmissable club nights with free DJ Masterclasses for young people in Southampton. Featuring renowned musicians such as Alan Fitzpatrick, James Zabelia, and SophieXJ.

Visit Southampton’s Old Town Easter Trail, 28th March – 14th April, Old Town (FREE)

This April half-term, fall our free trail to explore the city's heritage quarter in search of colourful Easter eggs. Children will receive a small prize for completing the trail.


Carlton Place Monthly Market, 6th April, Carlton Place (FREE & NEW!)

Held on the first Saturday of every month, browse a variety of outdoor market stalls in the city's newly pedestrianised area.

ABP Marathon, 7th April, city centre

Join thousands of runners on the streets of Southampton. Choose to run either the full marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K, or fun run.

Southampton Fake Festival, 18th May, Mayflower Park

Tribute-based music festival for all ages. See the best tribute bands including Oasish, Fore Fighters and Pulp'd. 


Take That & Olly Murs, 1st – 2nd June, St. Mary’s Stadium

Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald, are back with their much anticipated UK Tour.

80th Anniversary of D-Day, 6th June, city centre

For the 80th anniversary of D-Day, Southampton commemorates its pivotal role in preparations for the Normandy Landings.

Jerk Jam, 8th June, Pinkmead Farm

Award nominee for the UK's best grassroots festival and best boutique festival, Jerk Jam celebrates the finest of Caribbean food and music.

Southampton Summer Sessions, 13th – 30th June, Guildhall Square

A star-studded lineup of acts are set to play in Guildhall Square including Kaiser Chiefs, Nile Rodgers & CHIC, Tom Jones, and Madness. Keep an eye on Summer Sessions official socials for further event announcements.

Pride in the Park, 8th – 9th June, Hoglands Park (FREE)

A colourful celebration of Pride, with two days packed with free entertainment, street food and market stalls.

Southampton Street Food Circus: Summer Festival, 5th - 7th July, Crosshouse Car Park

One big weekend of delicious street food, DJs, craft beer, cocktails, and roaming circus acts.

Southampton Thai Festival, 6th – 7th July, Hoglands Park (FREE)

Experience local Thai culture from fresh food and drink to live performances and activities.

Let’s Rock, 6th July, The Common

Bringing you the very best of the 80s with The Human League, Level 42 and China Crisis.

SO:FRINGE Southampton Fringe Festival, 11th - 13th July, 6 venues

The inaugural festival has been created to showcase local artists with activity in 6 different venues including MAST Mayflower Studios, The Stage Door, Mettricks and Heartbreakers. 

Mela Festival, 13th July, Hoglands Park (FREE)

A colourful celebration modern and traditional Asian culture through music, dance, and family-friendly activities, showcasing performances by renowned artists from around the globe.

Light The South, 13th July – 8th September, Southampton (FREE)

Explore 30 individually designed lighthouse sculptures across Southampton and the Isle of Wight.

The Hundred, 24th July - 4th August, Utilita Bowl

See Southern Brave play across eight matches at Utiliia Bowl for the cricketing event of the year. 

Zyair Circus, 7th – 11th August, Hoglands Park

Enjoy thrilling performances under the big top from acrobats to stuntmen.

Southampton Pride, 24th – 25th August, Guildhall Square (FREE)

New for 2024, celebrate pride across two whole days! Full line-up is yet to be announced so make sure you keep an eye on their socials.

Southampton International Boat Show, 13th – 22nd September, Mayflower Park

At this 54th edition of this annual event, expect water sports, food and drink, live music and of course – boats!

Craft Beer South, 14th September, The 1865

Enjoy a 15 the South's finest craft beer, real cider, sprits, and artisan wine, all while enjoying some live music and street food.

BBAM! Festival, 28th September, Guildhall Square (FREE)

An annual festival celebrating the vibrant tapestry of Black businesses, arts, and music in Southampton.

Music in the City, 28th - 29th September, city centre (FREE)

A weekend music festival celebrating diverse talents across a variety of unique venues throughout the city.


Oktoberfest, 25th – 26th October, Guildhall Square

Grab your lederhosen and enjoy all things Bavarian with traditional foods, the world's best beers, and live entertainment.

Vegan Market, 2nd November, Guildhall Square (FREE)

Remembrance Sunday Service, 10th November, Cenotaph and Guildhall Square (FREE)

Annual Sunday service and Military and Veterans parade to remember those that lost their lives or served in the war.

Countdown to Christmas, dates tbc, city centre (FREE)

Kick off the festive season with Southampton's annual light-switch on event. Enjoy a range of free entertainment for the whole family from roaming theatre acts to live bands.

Christmas Market, November – December, city centre (FREE)

See the city centre transformed into a festive wonderland with glittering lights and alpine chalets with a range of thrilling rides, unique gifts, and food and drink.

Christmas Panto: Jack and the Beanstalk,14th December - 5th January, Mayflower Theatre

Kev Orkian, award-winning actor and comedian, and the incredible street dance sensations, Ashley Banjo & Diversity, are back this Christmas for a giant adventure up the beanstalk - fun for the whole family!
