The joyous and uplifting comedy musical, Bugsy Malone is back at Mayflower Theatre as the Summer Youth Production for 2024.Based on the classic Alan Parker movie Bugsy Malone which launched the careers of Scott Baio and Jodie Foster, this new production will feature over 150 talented young people from across our area. Filled with the stunning songs, Fat Sam’s Grand Slam, My Name is Tallulah, You Give a Little Love and of course Bugsy Malone, the show takes place in Prohibition era, New York. Two gangs square off in a 1920s rivalry of Capone-ian standards. Dandy Dan's gang has gotten the upper hand since obtaining the "splurge" gun (a weapon that shoots whipped cream). Now, Fat Sam and his bumbling buffoons are in real trouble! Bugsy Malone, a one-time boxer, is thrust not-so-willingly into the limelight when he becomes the last chance that Fat Sam's gang has of surviving. All Bugsy really wants to do is spend time with his new love, Blousey, but that just isn't in the cards for our hero.The appearance of any member of cast is subject to change and may be affected by contracts, holiday, illness, or events beyond the producers' control.
