St Michael’s Church Guided Tour

This tour is part of our weekday programme, exploring the rich history and heritage of the town. Each session is different, but it could be a talk, tour or something entirely different! Please be aware that this tour will be on a Monday, and not the usual Thursday.St Michael’s Church is the oldest surviving building in Southampton and has been central to many of the incredible events in the city’s past. In this special guided tour, join guide and historian Geoff Watts in exploring the ins and outs of this incredible sacred space. From the Norman Conquest, to the terrifying French Raid of 1338 and the Second World War, this truly is one of the most important buildings in Southampton.There will be outside elements of the tour and uneven floors, so please wear suitable footwear. The tour will begin in St Michael’s Square (outside Tudor House and near St Michael’s Church).Our prices are based on helping as many people to access our talks as possible. The more you choose to pay, the more people will be able to come and enjoy the same excellent programme of informative and entertaining talks.
