The current St Denys Carnival is run entirely by a group of volunteers who are neighbours, friends and locals. The Carnival is a not for profit event and is held simply to bring joy and creativity to our little ‘village in a city.’When: Monday 26th May (Spring Bank Holiday) Where: The Parade begins and ends at St Denys Community Centre, Priory Road. Time: The Event runs from 11:00-15:00, with the carnival parade leaving around 11:30am. Theme: Nature – This theme has been chosen as St Denys Carnival is pleased to be included as one of the Urban Wild series of events which have been initiated by Southampton National Park City.How can I take part?* Dress up in a nature themed costume and let us know you want to join the parade * Decorate the outsider of your St Denys house or garden to spread joy * Create a float and enter it (please fill in this form) * Line the streets and watch the parade – bonus points for cheering and waving * Enjoy the stalls, games and live music at St Denys Community Centre, Priory Road * Listen to Gospel music, explore craft stalls and eat incredible Caribbean food at The New Testament of God Church, Priory Road * Continue the celebrations from 15:00 with the after party at Woodies@The Junction. * Share your memories and pictures of previous St Denys Carnivals to be part of the Carnival Exhibition at St Denys Church and Centre. * Get baking and enter a cake in the St Denys Cake Off Competition * Enter a team in the Tug of War CompetitionWhat route will the parade take? The parade will leave and return to the community centre, and will visit the bottom end of Priory Road South, Eastfield Road, South Road, Railway View and Adelaide Road.
