Join experienced artist and tutor Emma Morrisey at one of a new series of ‘get to grips with’ workshops here at the Gallery. These sessions are perfect for those looking to develop their skills with different media, so if you’ve ever wondered where to start with a new set of materials, these workshops are for you!Dates and topics are as follows:Sat 10 May: Get to grips with oil pastel Learn the basics of oil pastels with mark making techniques inc layering, pressure blend & scumbling. You will create a series of pieces ranging from mark making to build your own finished art piece.Sat 14 June: Get to grips with soft pastel Learn the basics of soft pastels with mark making techniques inc layering, scumbling & how to blend. You will create a series of pieces ranging from mark making to build your own finished art piece.Sat 12 July: Get to grips with pen Learn the basics of using pen & learn mark making techniques including layering, cross hatching, mapping out a sketch & proportion. You will create a series of pieces ranging from mark making to build your own finished art piece.Sat 13 Sept: Get to grips with charcoal & chalk Learn the basics of charcoal & chalk with mark making techniques inc mapling out, blocking in, layering, proportion & building depth using chalk to highlight. You will create a series of pieces ranging from mark making to building your own finished art piece.You can book for each session individually or receive a discounted price when booking all four.
