Hares of Hampshire

Hares of Hampshire is a spectacular public art event that will bound across Southampton and Winchester in the summer

Hares of Hampshire 3

This exciting interactive art event is organised by The Murray Parish Trust and Wild In Art.

For ten weeks the streets, parks and public spaces will be brought to life with a drove of Hares and their young Leverets sculptures, creating a free, fun, family-friendly trail of discovery for everyone to enjoy whilst exploring our great cities.

Each sculpture will be sponsored by a business and individually designed by an artist – either well-known or just starting out, from Hampshire or further afield.

They’ll hop into both cities on Thursday 16 June – before leaving on Thursday 25 August 2022.

Then from the 2 to 4 September, there will be the chance to say a final ‘goodbye’ at a Farewell Event before each Hare is auctioned to raise funds for The Murray Parish Trust.

This will be the biggest art event that Southampton and Winchester have ever seen, creating a free, fun, family-friendly trail of discovery for everyone to enjoy whilst exploring our great cities. This is an opportunity for locals and visitors to be inspired, get creative and celebrate the history and culture of Hampshire.

There’s a way to go before the trail begins, but we hope you’ll participate in the art trail to see and enjoy the Hares of Hampshire throughout summer.
