The School of Art, Design and Fashion is home to a creative teaching community. From construction to illustration, fashion to graphic design our academic community has extensive knowledge and experience of working in and with industry. Alongside this many of our colleagues spend time outside the University undertaking various roles and experiences to help both shape industry and the curriculum.
Join us as we explore how our academic community transfer their experience and learnings from outside the University to help prepare students in building successful working lives. The evening will explore some of the emerging trends across the various industries with a Q&A discussion then looking at what our academic community sees as the biggest challenges and opportunities.You will also get the chance to view some of the fantastic student work and projects that have been created.
Our guest speakers for the evening will cover a diverse range of topic areas including:
**Jonny Hannah**, Senior Lecturer in Illustration – Jonny will explore the diversity of modern illustration as a career choice & what it has to offer through his own practice & experiences.
**Lesley Taylor**, Academic Lead (Re:So) - Lesley will explore how the role of retail has evolved to support the creative industry.
**Lydia Southwell,** Course Leader in Interior Design Decoration - Lydia will look at how interior design trends have changed and the impact this has had on teaching.
