British Cycling's traffic-free cycling festival - HSBC UK Let's Ride Southampton - is a day of fun activities and challenges for the whole family to enjoy. From music and local street food, to live stunt shows and much more.
Come along and enjoy seeing your city from the saddle. You don’t have to do the full distance – just as much or as little as you want at your own pace and there is a shorter loop on offer for those looking for a different circuit to ride. Plus, of course you'll be able to explore Southampton on two wheels.
With no cars on the road, this is a perfect event for new and experienced cyclists.

There is a fantastic new circular route this year (6.25km) with the official start at 11am at St Mary's Stadium, where there will be a host of free, fun activities. The route then takes you on a tour around the city with more free activities and stop-off points at the Get Cycle Savvy Pit Stop in Queen's Park, Seaside in the Square at Guildhall Square and a live cycle stunt show in Hoglands Park. You can hop on and off the route anytime between 11am and 3pm.

To keep hydrated on your ride, don't forget to bring your water bottle as there will be a free refilling water station at St Marys Stadium.
St Mary's Stadium will also have lots of options for you to buy light snacks and drinks.
The route takes you by Oxford Street and Guildhall Square where you can hop off your bike and enjoy the many restaurants and cafes to grab a quick bite or relax for a while and watch your fellow cyclists ride by!
Don't forget the ice cream concessions in the parks; a great way to cool down after all that cycling!
How to get there
By bike: Most of the city is less than a 20-minute ride from St Mary's Stadium. The football club has ample free covered cycle parking at the rear of the stadium.
The Sustrans National Cycle Network route 23 will bring you from the north of the city to the stadium on quiet roads or traffic-free paths. You can join this from the east on NCN2, or from the west on NCN236.
Join other cyclists on a Led Ride to the event from across of the city to the start point.
From Hythe (with a stop at Marchwood and Eling- not via ferry).
From North Baddesley (with a pick-up at Sainsbury’s Lordshill & St James Park).
From Hamble via Royal Victoria Country Park and Weston Shore.
From Fleming Park to St Marys.
The rides will be led by local British Cycling Ride Leaders and Breeze Champions.

By train: Southampton Central Railway station is within 30 minutes' walk of St Mary's Stadium, with regular and frequent services from London and other major city links.
Woolston, Bitterne and St Deny’s stations are all also within 30 minutes walk.
Note standard cycle restrictions will apply - check with train operators in advance of your journey.
By ferry: Hythe Ferry is offering FREE bike travel and FREE travel for children.

By road: All participants are advised to arrive by public transport, if a car park is needed then there are a number of public car parks close to the event.
Advanced warning of road closures.
Every effort will be made to minimise disruption to vehicle users, though there will be road closures and restrictions of vehicle movement in Southampton on Sunday 21 July to ensure the safety of the participants. There will be full traffic management in place with diversion routes to ensure your journey around the city is as smooth as possible, but please allow for extra travel time.
Roads which will be affected by closures and restrictions between 6am - 6pm.
Melbourne Street / Standford Street / Granville Street / Chapel Road / St Mary Street (from Evans St to Chapel Rd) / Evans Street / St Mary’s Place / Kingsway (from St Mary’s Pl to Northam Rd) / Marsh Lane (from Evans St to Threefield Ln) / Threefield Lane / Bernard Street (from Orchard Pl to Terminus Terrace) / John Street / Oxford Street (from John St to Latimer St) / Latimer Street (from Oxford St to Queen’s Terrace) / Queen’s Terrace (from Latimer St to Orchard Pl) / Orchard Place (from Briton St to Bernard St) / Houndwell Place / Palmerston Road / New Road (from Park Walk to Palmerston Rd) / Above Bar Street (from New Road to Brunswick Pl) / Civic Centre Road (except Buses) / East Park Terrace.
Residents Information - vehicle access
The event organisers apologise for any inconvenience the closures may cause, but to ensure the safety of cyclists, there can be no vehicle access or movement onto or along the route during the scheduled event times. Residents living directly on, or with secured parking off, any of the roads mentioned above, who need to use their cars on Sunday 21st July between the scheduled road closure times should use alternative parking where possible, on nearby roads or car parks away from the roads affected.
Chapel Road and adjoining roads: A one-way access/egress system will be in place westbound along Chapel Road during the day. Residents wishing to leave from The Compass and Maryfield, all cars will be escorted left onto Chapel Road and along to Marsh Lane to leave the area. Residents needing car access to The Compass and Maryfield, need to arrive to the Marine Parade junction with Chapel Road, and then be escorted to your respective road.
New Road, North Front & South Front area: A one-way access/egress system will be in place to the North & South Front area. Anyone wishing to access the area by car should arrive to the New Road / St Andrews Road junction by the Premier Inn to be facilitated along to North Front from Palmerston Road. People wishing to leave the area by car should use South Front, turn Left onto Kingsway and head up to the St Andrews Road / Northam Road junction.
College Street Car Park: Please note, access to College Street car park will be restricted on the day of the event. If you have a resident permit for this car park, your permit is valid for other council car parks. See Parking Guidance for full information of alternative parking.
Park Walk: Residents and businesses wishing to access Park Walk with a vehicle must to arrive via Civic Centre Road. Drivers must inform the AA Staff that they wish to access Park Walk and they will be permitted through. Vehicles are to continue along Civic Centre Road and join New Road and turn into Park Walk, as directed by an Event Steward at the Park Walk/New Rd junction. Vehicles need to exit the same way as they arrived, turn right out of Park Walk onto New Rd and re-join Civic Centre Road.
Businesses: Businesses are advised to consider rearranging deliveries to arrive before the scheduled closure times or after the scheduled reopening times.
