Poetry Reading: The Mother Country by Helen Moore
free entry - 7pm start - instore
Acclaimed ecopoet Helen Moore will be in the shop talking about The Mother Country. Her book explores dispossession including personal, social + ecological disinheritance. From colonial legacies to contemporary impacts of industrial civilisation on human health, planetary systems + our children’s future – this is a journey through sorrow, a quest for poetic justice, and a movement towards forgiveness + ecological restoration.
Helen gave the 2018 INSPIRE Hay Festival lecture, is a Forest School leader, works in environmental education, founded a Forest School Co-op and runs nature-based recovery programmes for vulnerable adults.
