Join Christina Williams as she talks about her research on how fiction writers make their living, and the difficulties they face.
Tina will be sharing some early findings from her research into how writers of fiction in the UK make a living. She will be talking about the difficulties writers face in planning their careers and predicting their income, and discussing how ideas of ‘hope labour’ (Kuehn & Corrigan, 2013) and ‘aspirational labour’ (Duffy, 2017) don't quite fit the experiences and practices of fiction writers.
Christina Williams is based in the CAMEo Research Institute for Cultural and Media Economies at the University of Leicester.
