Active Warrior Games

11th August 2019

The Outdoor Sports Centre , Thornhill Road

Information: 0300 020 0135

Active Warrior Games returns to once again provide a challenging, but fun, test of speed, strength, power and skill. We’ve switched up the format slightly in order to add a knockout stage on top of the previous event format, which will culminate in the top athletes racing head to head in a unique final challenge.

Influenced by both obstacle course racing and crossfit/functional fitness, this event is a race against the clock, and each other, as you battle your way through five timed fitness challenges designed to put your whole body to the test. Once the scores are added up to create a league table, the top competitors will go through to a quarter final stage and be whittled down until a champion is crowned.

Each challenge will remain secret until the day before the event, but you can expect a short, intense OCR course as well as a variety of functional workouts requiring all round fitness.

The Warrior Games will see competitors split into small groups and tackle each challenge across approximately 2 hours; a rest period will follow each challenge so that you can regain some composure, get your breath back and get prepared to go again. A short break will allow us to confirm the competitors heading in to the knockout stage which will take approximately an hour to conclude.

At the Powerhouse you’ll find a range of specialised equipment used within many OCR events, such as Rope Climbs, Rigs, High Pulley Systems, Walls and much more. We also have over 20 varied bootcamp sessions a month to help give you guidance and coaching, but you can also head down to train by yourself.  Join our community by buying a 30 day pass to The Powerhouse and we’ll help you get motivated for a whole new type of workout! Come and check it out.
