Discover Dolphins

For 8 weeks during the summer of 2021 a pod of colourful, life-size bottlenose dolphin sculptures will form a free, open-air art trail across the city’s streets, parks and neighbourhoods bringing excitement and enjoyment to thousands of local residents and visitors alike.

The fin-tastic sculpture trail will take place between the 8 August and the 1 October.

It will include approximately 30 sculptures and will be complemented by a pod of smaller dolphins painted by local schoolchildren.

Showcasing the incredible and unique talent of local artists, each of the individually designed dolphin sculptures will be sponsored by a local business before being auctioned in Southampton to raise vital funds to support Whale and Dolphin Conservation’s work.

See the video below showing Nathan painting the dolphin. The design, which incorporates the term 'Wisdom is Learning', is a visual interpretation of how the mammal communicates using soundwaves and clicks.
