Ways to support Southampton during lockdown

Although much of Southampton is temporarily closed due to the latest Government restrictions, you can still support your favourite businesses in a number of ways throughout the month.

Visit our Be Smart In Southampton page to find out what measures have been put in place across the city centre to make your experience safe and enjoyable when you return.

Shop online

It's likely that most of your favourite brands and outlets, both national and smaller independents will have online shopping services so you can continue with your early Christmas shopping or treating yourself to some lockdown goodies. Many places may be offering promotions or deals as well throughout the month and specifically around Black Friday (27 November).

Click & Collect

West Quay 128 1

Different to the first national lockdown back earlier this year, non-essential retailers can remain open for Click & Collect services only.

Places like John LewisArgos and London Camera Exchange will remain open for these services, meaning you can order and pay online and then collect in store. Read #OurSouthampton blog here to find out which businesses are offering Click & Collect.

Tasty food straight to your door

Southampton food outlets will be closed to diners until December, however, you can enjoy a tasty meal from the comfort of your own home as many businesses offer delivery or takeaway. With our vast selection of restaurants, fast food outlets, cafés and pubs in the city you will be sure to find a cuisine that whets your appetite so support your local hospitality venues and eat in to help out! Read our blog here to find out where in the city is offering takeaway, delivery and collection options.

Turtle BaySakura, The Real Greek. Mango Thai Tapas, Coriander Lounge and Mexigo are just a few of the eateries which have in-house delivery, collection or takeaway options. You can also check food delivery services such as Deliveroo, Uber Eats and Just Eat for more places in Southampton that are delivering.

Leaving a review for your favourite business its a simple and free way you can support them during these difficult times. In particular Hospitality businesses, have been greatly affected by the pandemic so by writing a review about your previous visit can have a huge impact. So share the love and leave a review or rating on Facebook, Google, TripAdvisor or any other platform.

Get ready for Christmas

Sleeping Beauty Christmas Panto Advert

As it stands, Southampton will fully reopen on 2 December in line with national restrictions so why book your Christmas meal, drinks or plan a visit to the city for when the city is back in business? Most places will have a cancellation/refund policy in place so please check with individual businesses when booking or amending your booking.

Don't forget The Stage Door (adult only) and the Mayflower Theatre are putting on Christmas panto's this December in Southampton. Both very different but as equally as funny so make sure you grab your tickets before they sell out.
