Don't be in a fix about what to do during the May half-term holidays, 27th May – 2nd June.
There’s plenty of different events, activities and experiences to suit everyone in the family and have some half-term fun in Southampton!

Read on for a few ideas.

For your little Pirates and Adventurers

If you and your little ones like adventure you can discover the 400-meter Maze, on the Esplanade, through twists and turns and reach the ultimate surprise, the Urban Treehouse. Or join fellow pirates uncovering the hidden treasure at the Outdoor sports centre, which legend says it’s been buried over 500 years ago!

Conquer the 12 challenges set in Southampton’s May Half term trail. Use the map to find the challenges, complete the tasks in the different locations along the route and show your completed sheet at the final location to collect your free prize.

We’re going on a bear hunt, will you join us? Based on the much-loved book picture by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury, join our intrepid family of adventurers and their musical dog on a quest to find a bear. View this play and join in your own bear hunt this half term at NST Campus.

Looking for child-friendly plays? Try NST’s Treasure Island, their adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's *Treasure Island* with Callum Donnelly and JezO from CBBC and CBeebies or Maylfower theatre’s Milkshake Live: Milkshake Monkey's Musical.

Discover Woodmill on the 2nd June and try kayaking, canoeing, climbing, leap of faith, bush craft, archery, paddleboarding or even a vertical challenge, while having a lot of fun. There will also be a BBQ, music and a bouncy castle!! Or become a celebrity for 24 hours for outdoor activities and challenges.

If the weather forecast is favourable enjoy lots of free fun and games can be had in the many parks and open spaces in the city

For budding Monets and Movie Makers

If you are looking to learn a new skill join the Film School Action Movie Course at City Eye. Where children and adolescents will learn how to film, edit and produce short films during half term. So, bring ideas, props, costume or just yourself and let’s make the blockbuster of the summer!

Get artsy! At City Art Gallery you can learn how to make drop-in pinatas or printmaking cards. Or head over to SeaCity Museum for some fun history and crafts.

If you prefer being outside visit the Tudor House and Garden for some magical fun with their garden fairies and elves or at wizard school!

All the fun of the Fair!

Are you looking for a big ride, games and a bouncy castle? Get all the fun of the fair this half term at the Community Fair at Hoglands Park.

A bit further afield for all the family

Want to be a detective for a day? Join National Trust’s Mottisfont Abbey, Garden, House & Estate this half term and become a garden detective activity and find mysterious surprises in the garden.

Play with LEGO dinosaurs at the spectacular interactive expedition created with more than two million LEGO® bricks at Marwell Wildlife’s Brickosaurs!

Explore the sculpture exhibition featuring 350 works from international and national sculptors showcased in Palace House, and its gardens and grounds. Plus a chance to train as a Secret Agent this half-term at Beaulieu!
